Well, Saturday is my birthday, and I am going out to our local bookstore. I can buy a few books, and I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions. They don't have to be Second World War related, but please, something mature.
Strange as it may sound, how about a book on German? Or Norwegian? Not that I'm saying you shouldn't use them, but translators aren't as accurate as knowing the language for RP posts. Besides, if you ever hear someone talking in that language, then you can hear what they're - especially useful if you ever meet someone who doesn't speak English, but those languages.

I just went back through my list of books here, and I saw one that I think you would like. So, if you haven't read it before then The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. It is about the war, but told in a civilian way. I liked the style in it versus other war novels I have read.

Regeneration by Pat Barker, it is a book about Sasson and Rivers in WW1, I have just started it, it is a very good read.
Or, there are the horse racing thrillers by Dick Francis which are also very good, I recommend Nerve, Under Orders and others...

Just to point out, Felix asked this question in April so answering it might not be too relevant anymore. Unless of course, you just generally wish to recommend books to others.
