I have seen two instances that have sort of made me well, question why do people who become POW's get no CP for the skirmishes they were in. I mean, they wrote in it and gave their time, but why don't they get any CP. In a battle I was just in I became a POW (and I am not complaining), but Wil was barely in the battle yet he got a chunk of CP even though he escaped. Now, I gave my time to that thread by writing posts that I know were pretty bad compared to the better writers here. I still worked on them, so why don't POW's get money for their battles because they to contributed to it in some way. So, I would be happy if a Staff Member could answer the question, not another member.
Simply because, when you become a PoW, all of your belongings go to your captor. Therefore, any CP you earn would go to your captor, and this counts for neutral threads while you are a prisoner as well.
It also stops people paying for their own bail to be released, instead you have to rely on other members.
Hope this answers your question.

So money I get from threads before the battle ended would be put in reserve, yet the money I had before the battle is given to the captor, not kept in reserve until I am released.

I think you're getting a bit mixed up Nathan. Simply put:
POW lose all weapons but not any CP they have when captured. However they do not receive any CP for the battle which they were captured in (an incentive not to get captured).
They may carry on any old threads which were begun before the capture post. They receive full CP for these threads. They may only start threads in the their respective prison area until freed. Prison area threads yield no CP to the POW.
They may either be prosecuted and sentenced to death, or a bail charge (with or without a deadline) can be set by the division which maintains custody over the POW. The bail charge can be paid by anyone, even the POW, although it is common practise for their division to produce the funds.
Wait, what, no. Every other time somebody has been taken PoW, they've lost their CP. Look at Golodkowski (from memory), and Luther. All the CP has gone to the victor.

Oops, there appears to be a bit of a mix-up here. When I modded Vaalto being taken prisoner I myself was a bit unsure of the guidlines regarding CP. I couldn't quite remember, so instead of finding out I'd made a mistake later, I asked PuNk in a PM;
When you are captured doesn't your CP go to the enemy too? A thread I was marking just finished and I can't quite remember.
Yes, the enemy may take all belongings. The only time it's different, is when it's an epic battle (such as strum's), where your belongings are only taken if you're bailed out.
Otherwise, the main website rules are that - all your belongings may be stripped from your person.
EDIT: Ryan, you have Vaalto's journal, but it isn't actually in your profile. You can give it back to him if you want, but can't sell it (it would only be a couple of CP anyway).

Right, I'm sorry for the mix up but loss of CP seems completely illogical. It's currency, but in real world times what would and American do with RM 800, or and Italian with $500? Can I suggest a review of the rule, because I feel that could be behind the reason Raf hasn't gone near a battle in the past six months.
Victories: 4 / Units Killed: 14 / Units Wounded: 9 / Units Captured: 2 / Promotions: 1 / Units Saved: 2 / Defeats: 1 / Men Lost: 12
Something that could be added is that POW's are given money at the end of the round for their writing and such, but it would go to the captor. All money from neutrals and anywhere else from before the battle ended should be put in a reserve for the character to get when they are released.
Prisoners gain no CP from being captured during any hostile battle, simply to put it, you do not get paid for becoming captured. The option of surrendering or being taken prisoner, is simply to save your character's life, whereas reframing from a surrender - puts your life in the mercy of the enemy's hands.
When captured, your belongings and CP is distributed to your captor. On grounds on whether your captor would like to take certain items from your inventory or not, is entirely up to them. So you could have a very battle worthy enemy, that respects the fight you put up or surrender even, that they will not take any items from your person/s. But rather just set a bail.
This rule for the POW is complimentary upon the main website, but not epic battles, where staff member alterations for the campaign are enabled to edit the rules.
So revise this rule; - Does your captor Vaalto, wish to take anything from your inventory? - You do not get granted 16CP for being captured and losing the battle. - Any CP you currently hold (before the battle) may be taken from your account.
EDIT: Any role plays you participate in during the time of being a prisoner means you will earn that CP for yourself, I don't know where Nathan got the idea of having the CP taken from you? Should you earn any as a prisoner, but that's a false comment, as you may continue to earn CP via' role playing in the prison camps or otherwise...
Yes, you may become a POW! Now read the following steps carefully, these are crucial.
If you’re wounded, unable to fight anymore - you will Not
[/b] be allowed to retreat. So depending upon how badly injured or exhausted you are, you could possibly have one of two options. A heroic last stand, that would inevitably mean your death or surrender to the mercy of your enemy. Obviously, you don’t have to surrender to become a POW, as at the end of the day, the whole balance rests upon the shoulders of your enemy who either take pity on you or finish the job…
[/li][li] When taking a POW, you may take all of their belongings, including weaponry and any other items. PLEASE state this at the TOP or BOTTOM of your post in bold writing, that you are ‘Disarming’ the person of certain items, any items you do not state you have found or disarmed them off, will not be removed. So be descriptive when searching them or removing their weaponry, please also state if you KEEP their weaponry or discard of it.
[/li][li] When taking enemy weaponry, this may conflict with weaponry you already have. So be careful when selecting what you wish to keep, as this may conflict with primary or secondary weaponry you already have. Meaning you’d have to sell some weaponry… Let’s face it, it’s unrealistic to be walking around with several weapons.
[/li][li] Surrendering Enemies; If an enemy surrenders, it is by law of the Geneva Convention he or she is entitled to be taken prisoner. If you are found killing prisoners unlawfully, you could face punishment yourself, but this is war after-all and how you treat your enemy is entirely your choice.
[/li][li] When the person becomes a POW, they are then strictly restricted to ONLY posting in the Allied Prison area. Allied Members may start threads for the prisoner to take place in and vice versa, but the Prisoner may not role play anywhere else. No hostile threads or Axis neutral threads.
[/li][li] At any time, the Allies may prosecute/execute their prisoner. This is how it works;
Prosecution: - Allies may Prosecute the Prisoner, this could range from a board ban from a few days, to weeks, to months, but once their sentence is over, they may begin role playing like normal again, if ever again. For the prosecution to take effect, the Allies must have two or three Commanding Officers (C.O ranks) in agreement upon their prisoner’s sentence. If their sentence is extortionate and unrealistic, this could be made void and overturned.
- Allies may set a Bail Charge too, this bail charge is the standard price paid to the Allies (only once) for the release of the prisoner. Releasing the Prisoner doesn’t give the member all their items back, but they do gain a standard issued rifle again.
- Allies may also Execute their prisoner at any moment. This has to be done during Role Play with their captive, as the shot will have to be marked as ‘Fatal’, but don’t think just anyone can enter and shoot the Prisoner; You will need confirmation from your Commanding Officer, if they do not do it themselves.
- However… If you wish to Prosecute & Set a bail charge, you won’t be able too. Setting a bail charge enables the Prisoner to Role Play in the Prison area, until their release or execution, whilst the prosecution is a sentence given to the prisoner to wait out. So the following equations follow;
Prosecution is a Sentence to Wait out (This could range from days/weeks/months) --> Release. (May not be executed or Set a Bail Charge)
Bail Charge is a Sentence to Wait until it’s paid --> Release (Without charge) or Execution. (May not be Sentenced to a timely release)

NPC POWs:
Yes, NPCs may become POWs. If you capture an NPC during battle or the NPC is forced to surrender, then you may do as you please with this unit during the thread. Read the guidelines below for more details;
- Capturing an NPC as a POW, strips the member's control of that NPC completely. So the person who lost their NPC to the enemy, will not be able to control that unit anymore...
- The captured NPC becomes under the control of the MOD-MARKER. The capturing member may push and pull the prisoner from location to location, but they may not control the prisoner personally. So they may not control the NPC speaking, moving or performing actions as if it were their own unit.
- At anypoint during the battle, the Mod-Marker may control the POW Unit; So if they feel that the POW may be in the right frame of mind and physical condition to try and escape, than the Mod-Marker may do so. Same with any offensive actions towards other enemy units...
- If the capturer manages to hold the NPC POW until the end of the battle, they will be granted 1 NPC Soldier and even, possibly, an additional lump of bonus CP for capturing an enemy POW or abiding by the Geneva Convention (rules of war).
- So if a Private NPC is captured, than the capturer will gain a Private NPC... If a Corporal or Sergeant NPC is captured, than the enemy will either gain a Corporal or Sergeant NPC. Y'see how this works now? So if you captured a whole platoon of men, then you will get a whole platoon of men in return. At the end of the battle.
- NPC POWs can not be executed or put on ransom after the battle. Once the NPC is captured, they are essentially converted into a unit for yourself. However, they will not be the same person, of course, so the captured NPC vanishes and may never be retrieved again.
Have any questions, ask below. ~Danny[/quote]
read that and tell me it says that the captor may take my money, because it doesn't. Now, I am fine with losing the money, just I don't think the money should be given to the captor in future POW situations. I hope you all see my case. Also the POW Rules above were last updated on Sept. 5
