Under intense fire Aaron made his way to Jean-Luc who blindly scrambled toward cover. Jean felt his arm being grasped, next thing he knew Aaron pulled him onwards. German bullets whipped into the trees and ground around them but luckily no one was injured. They managed to evade the Nazi’s one more time slipping out of view. The car sat pulled over on the side of the road, Jean-Luc rushed for the driver’s side. He opened the door and slipped inside, quickly he reached over unlocking Schellenburg’s side. Jean checked the STEN-gun’s magazine next, Upon inspection he discovered it held three bullets, “Three shots..”. He tossed the sub machine gun in the backseat and removed the Colt 1911 from inside his suit jacket.
A single headlight was seen in the distance, “Get in fast!”. When Aaron climbed inside Jean-Luc did a burnout on the gravel and sped off down the road. After nervously glancing in the mirror 3-4 times he slammed on the brakes once they had gained some distance. He look at Aaron with a serious facial expression and said, “You want to get out of here right? That motorbike has a machine gun on the sidecar. When it catches up we are dead, follow me”. Le Spectre left the car running and hopped out, with the Colt held tightly in his left hand he dove into the ditch five feet behind the car. The sound of a motorcycle speeding up the road could be heard in the distance. He told Aaron “When they stop at the car we run up on them from behind. You tell them to surrender, I speak German but with a poor accent. Got it Aaron Schellenburg? This moment determines if we live or die my friend”.
Jean pulled the slide back on his pistol, “By the way..thank you for helping me back there. You gave me a sense of direction. Pierre..he fell fighting." The black car sat in the middle of the road idling, it’s tail lights glowed red in the darkness. Le Spectre put a finger to his lips, “Shh… If any of them go for a gun you must shoot him”.
