OOC: I know that there is already a lot of Allied neutral threads, but a lot of them have been underway for a long time, and I don't want to intrude. This thread is just to build my characters relationships with other charcters- People that I have already RPed with, or completely new people.
Daniel sighed loudly as he walked out into the cold our of the field, in his PT gear. He could find a million other things to do, that didn't have anything to do with exercise, but he knew from expierience that being unfit, made a soldiers job even harder. There were already about twenty men out in the field, doing some sort of exercise- most of them were running laps.
Daniel started doing a few small stretches, to make sure that he didn't pull a muscle or something when running. He then starting jogging slowly- Very, very slowly- around the field. According to him: It was easier to do a lot of laps slowly, than a lot less laps, fast. Daniel started jogging peacefuly, hearing nothing, but the sounds of his feet, hitting the wet, dew covered grass. It was so boringly peaceful, that he hardly noticed the other men running past him, at various speeds. Maybe this exericise thing wasn't so bad after all?

OOC - Hope you don't mind me joining!
The last time Stephen had been out here at had been pouring with rain, luckly today, it was clear and bright, the sun beamed down on the men running laps. Stephen was still out of action from the jeep accident, his leg was in a bandage, stupid accident, it had been his comrade's fault, who was now lying in a coma in hospital, the bastard... Stephen limped out on to the freild, he noticed one paticaular person going rather slowely round the feild. Watching the man, who he reconised as a Corpal. "Hello." he called loudly, hoping the other man could hear.

OOC: I said anyone can join
Daniel turned around at the sound of a voice calling out. He started jogging back towards the figure when you realised that the person was calling him. He didn't realise who it was, untill he was closer to him."Good to see ya, Stephen," He said, grinning broadly. He walked the remaining few steps to the man, then shook his hand, still grinning,"Hope you're leg's alright now". Daniel looked Stephen up and down,"I didn't know you were around here," He mumbled. Daniel started jogging on the spot to keep warm. It was sunny, yes. But not very warm...

Stephen watched the older man, a smile spreading across his face, "Its good to see you too Daniel, or should I say Corporal?" he frowned, but then shrugged and contuined, "My leg is getting better, I'm not really ment to be out here, but who cares." he waved his crutch in the air, "These are starting to bug me." the bandage was white, slightly muddy but white enough. "How is the running going?" he asked Daniel, watching as the man jogged on the spot.

Daniel laughed,"Jeez, do I look like the kind of person who cares if you don't call him by his proper rank? None of that fancy stuff here!". Daniel looked at Stephens crutch, and felt a little sorry for him."Yeah, those things must be anoying...," He said. A smile came to his face again,"But if you look at the bright side, you don't have to go running at five o' clock in the morning!".
Daniel glanced down at the battered watch on his wrist,"I should be exercising," He murmered sorrowfully."But I can slow down to a walk if you want to stay chatting," He shrugged. Daniel started walking slowly around the field."Come on!"

Stephen grinned broadly as Daniel spoke, "I was just checking!" he muttered, "I never liked getting up early for runs, so I can count my self lucky I suppose." he said, and realized that Daniel was walking.
"Alright, if thats ok with you, I don't want to slow down your training." he muttered and swung his crutch into the ground, limping after Daniel, he fell into step with him, watching the older man's face. "How long do you think the war will go on?" he suddenly asked as they had been walking in silence for a couple of minutes, "months, weeks, years?"

Daniel smiled to himself. It felt good to just talk to someone. He hadn't really talked to anyone for a few weeks, due to all of the action that everyone had been getting. The few conversations that he did have, were with some of unintelligent grunts in the barracks, that only ever talked about women, and killing Germans.
Daniel was a bit surprised by Stephens next question, it wan't the sort of thing he expected. "Well...," He began, but stopped, thinking about what to say."The Germans have a lot of manpower, and most of them are better trained than us. They are allied with Italy and Japan, which are both strong in the milatary aspect too. But there is only so far an army can go with experience and better weapons. Soon enough, the combined numbers of the English, American and Russian (And others) armys will be too much for the Nazis." Daniel looked Stephen in the eye, "I think the war will still go on for a few more years, maybe 'til '46, or '47, but in the end we will win."
While Daniel was talking, they had walked the whole way around the field, and now Daniel continued on for another circuit. Daniel walked in silence for a few more minutes, unitll he finaly spoke up, "So, what part of England are you from.?"
Stephen listened, gosh, the way would never end, more killing and wounding of men and horses alike. His crutches were getting muddy as he swung them into the ground, following Daniel and listening to him as he spoke. It was intresting to leave from an older, wiser man like Daniel.
Daniel's next question took him by surprise as they hadn't talked for a while. "I come from Devon, I lived on a working farm, you know, one of the older, old fashed ones. My father fought in the Great War." Stephen said, remembering what his father had said about the Great War, "They said it was the war to end all wars..." but that was wrong.

OOC: Sorry, but I've sorta left you behind...
Daniel smiled weakly,"Yeah, I don't know what this is meant to be of that was the war to end all wars ...". Daniel abruptly stopped walking. He just stood there, taking in the scents and sounds of the countryside. Most of the Barracks were up and about by now, and he could see dozens of green clad figures, flocking towards the Mess Hall.
Daniel started walking again, talking as he walked,"I'm originaly from Ireland, but I moved across to Boston at a young age." Daniel looked back at Stephen. His bandages were starting to get muddy, and his crutches were in a bad state."I think we should go to somewhere less muddy. You're not really suited to this kind of terain ...". Daniel thought for a few seconds before coming up with an idea,"We could go to the shooting range! It beats running around in the mud." Without waiting for Stephens reply, Daniel set off slowly for the Range. He walked past the track and on through a gap in the hedge, leading to copse of tree's.
Just inside the gap there was an old wooden shack, practicley falling apart, with a small window set in the side. Daniel walked up to the window,"Mornin', Bill" He greeted the scruffy man slouching in a chair at the other side of the window."Can I have two rifles, please". While waiting for the guns, Daniel looked behind him, suddenly remembering Stephen.
Stephen listened, Irleand, god that was a bit far away. He looked down at his bandages and realized that they were muddy and so were his crutches. Yes, shooting sounded a good idea, it was better than limping around in the mud.
Daniel had started walking rather quickly to the shooting range, and Stephen had a struggle to follow him, but in the end he caught up, slightly out of breah, his crutches skidding abit on the concert ground. "I'm here, don't worry." he said, coming up to the hut and looking at Bill and then to Daniel.
OOC - No worries!

"Sorry, bout that. I sorta went off without you," Daniel said quietly to Stephen, as he arrived at the scene. Daniel looked back at Bill again, and found that the rifles were ready. They were each given a hundred bullets- Daniel was surprised by the high amount of them issued out- and then he shooed them off
Daniel led Stephen down a path to the edge of a large clearing. Out in the clearing were varoius wooden, and cardboards figures, looming out of the tall grass, or else beside a tree. There was also a few cans scattered around the place aswell. "This is the place" Daniel muttered.
He lifted the Lee Enfield up against his shoulder, and aimed at the torso of a wooden figure, about a hundred yards away. Daniel held his breath, then slowly pulled the trigger. A loud crack echoed around the forest, and a small hole had appeared on the target, just where the heart would have been. Daniel didn't have a natural talent for shooting, but he had been in the army for about half a dozen years, and he had learned how to shoot properly, a long time ago.
Daniel looked across at Stephen,"Your shot!" He said grinning competitivly. Daniel focused his efforts on a can about fifty yards away. This time his aim wasn't as good, and he had to take two shots before the can was knocked over.
Stephen followed Daniel, swinging after him. He took the gun from the Coropal and watched as the man hit the target.
"Well done!" he said, rather enuthistaically, "Just to warn you, I'm not that good." he muttered, putting on crutch into his left hand, so his right hand was free, he lifted the gun to his shoulder, staring down the eye to the target, he pulled back the triger, and bang. He had hit the target's upper chest, near the shoulder. "Told you I was no good." he muttered and had a go at the cans, hitting one. He was surprised at his efforts. "Your turn. he said, setting the gun down so he could have his crutch.

Daniel looked on as Stephen hit the target, and then the can."Not too bad, for an Englishman," He teased. Then Daniel smiled,"Atleast you hit the target. You could have missed entirley, and hit Bill up at the shed!" Daniel laughed at his own joke.
Daniel lifted up his rifle and took aim at one of the closer figures.crack, a bullet flew through its head."That was close, so it was too easy" Daniel muttered to himself. He took aim at a few targets that were further down the field, and he started firing at each one in turn. He concentrated on one first. Then when he hit that, he would move on to another one.
Two minutes later he had used up, about half of his ammo, but had shot holes through a lot of cardboard people, and tin cans. That training would come in handy of he was ever up against multiple enemies. Daniel wiped away the sweat from his brow, and flopped down onto a log."You ..... Can have a .... g-go now" He called over to Stephen.
Stephen smiled weakly at Daniel’s joke, it wasn’t that funny but he needed to keep his spirits up at least. Stephen watched in amazement as the older soldier shot figure and can after figure and can. Some day Stephen wanted to be like that, shooting and killing the bloody Germans. Stephen’s mind started to wonder, to home, he then snapped back into reality as he heard Daniel’s voice. Stephen looked up, taking up his gun and started to take aim at the figures, hitting three out of four, then went to the cans hitting a few and then looked back to Daniel. ”What do you want to do now?” he asked, all of the cans and figures looked a bit battered and all holey.

OOC: Sorry about the long wait. And I'm finishing it off because I don't really know what else to do . T'was nice RPing with you.
Daniel looked out as Stephen "killed" a few of the figures, and knocked over a few cans. It was well into the morning, and Daniel still hadn't had breakfast yet. Also, he was needed for a patrol in the surrounding countryside in just a few hours."Nice job," He said to Stephen. Daniel lifted up his rifle, and carefully checked that there was no bumbs or scratches that Bill could give out to him for.
"I really should be going for breakfast now." He told Stephen, sadly."And then I have a patrol . . ." He muttered. Daniel picked up Stephens rifle, and walked slowly with Stephen, back up the track."Its been great chatting to you, and I hope we meet in France somewhere!" Daniel handed the two rifles back to Bill silently."Good luck, Stephen" He called over to him. Daniel began to slowly walk back towards the camp, and his breakfast.
