So he was Polish. Yes, the accent sounded familiar. Casper had met Polish people before, but they were becoming scarcer and scarcer as the years rolled by and the Nazis began to take even more control of Germany. It was odd; it was a dangerous time for all the people involved. Casper wasn’t worried – he wasn’t worried just yet anyway. His friends were, but he had assured them that everything was fine. Surely, a political party and Hitler could not ruin the culture of Germany and especially Berlin could it? But then again, the Nazi officer had warned about the camps...ah yes. Those camps where people were sent and some didn’t come back – the ones who did, did not talk about what had happened. Okay, so maybe Casper was scared of those a bit...
So Jace would go back to Poland no doubt? Casper shrugged it off; he had thought he liked Jace...he did....but he would go back to his own country and probably never see him again. ”Danke.” he muttered as Jace gave him the notes and he pocketed them quickly in one of the pockets of his trousers. He use the money on some breakfast probably – and maybe a new pair of trousers. So it was Jace’s first time? Casper already had a feeling it was, but he wanted to make sure. He nodded in acknowledgement. ” Sie genoss es, ja?” he asked as Jace stood up and walked towards the bathroom with his clothes.
He seemed nervous now, standing, looking at the boy. Casper cocked his head to one side and gave a slight chuckle. ” Seien Sie nicht nervös wieder, Jace.” he laughed and rolled his sleeves up, he remembered he had a cap stuffed into one of his pockets and took it out. He would leave now. He walked over to Jace again, stopping him from entering the bathroom and kissed him on the cheek before drawing away and heading for the door. He glanced back, smiled and then opened the door, quickly closing it after he had stepped through. His footsteps could be heard descending down the stairs quickly. If Jace was to look out the window, he would see the boy putting his cap on as he came out into the street. Casper glanced up at the window, or where he thought would be the window and then hurried away in the opposite direction.
Translations:
Sie genoss es, ja? – You enjoyed it, yes?
Seien Sie nicht nervös wieder, Jace – Don’t be nervous again, Jace.
