The Sand Stained Red (Patterson)

The gritty sand of the vast desert crunched under the weight of the 7 men traversing through it. Obersturmfuhrer Schneider and a squad of six men from his platoon, had been tasked with a daring mission. They were to rush through the African desert and arrive at a now abandoned ghost town, where the 7th Armored "Desert Rats" had once taken up defenses within the small town's walls.
Of course the Desert Korps had pushed them out of the town, they were forced to chase after the fleeing 7th Armored, and were unable to obtain the documents, weapons, and supplies left behind.

That was the Obersturmfuhrer and his men's task. They were to hurry into the city before any other Allied forces got their first, and scavenge everything they could, including some secret documents hidden within the the city hall, that's existence was learned about from an Axis spy. "Herr Obersturmfuhrer! Ich kann die Stadt von hier sehen! Wir sind sehr nahe," Erik's most trustworthy new recruit called out from up front.

"Amperestunde, gutes gutes. Schnell erhalten Sie in der Stadt, aber seien Sie nicht eilig. Wir wissen nicht, welche Lügen innerhalb es Wände ist." Erik ordered out to his men. He sipped out his canteen before closing it up, and following after his men. In total, the small town consisted of 8 houses. Two of them in the far west were what seemed to be apartment complexes. Most of the
citizens had probably lived within their walls. Then there was the city hall, just beside the apartment building in the North-West corner of town. The building south of that had was a storage building. It had food, water, and ammo. South of that was what seemed to be a post office and bank. The other 3 building were miscellaneous shops and what not.

"Sichern Sie Männer eines Umkreises! Stellen Sie auf die oberen Fußböden und die Dächer der Gebäude auf. Passen Sie den Nordosten auf. Die ist die most likely Weise, die jedermann sonst eintragen würde. Achen, das mit mir Ihr ist." Barked out the young Obersturmfuhrer. The men all obeyed and saluted their
commanding officer before each choosing a building to set up within. Each was equipped with the standard issued K98 Mauser Rifle. It wouldn't do good in close combat, but Erik figured they would be able to kill the enemy before it became close combat. He took off with his favorite Schutze, Jonas Achen, towards the large city hall. Upon their arrival, the duo split up and searched the building
for the documents. An estimated 30 minutes later, Erik found them on the top floor, the third floor. He began to search through them when he ordered Achen to set up in the building.

To his amazement, Erik found attack plans, strategies, logistics, statistics, positions, etc. If he got this back to Berlin, his commanding officers would be extremely pleased. It might even give the Axis an upper hand in Africa. Just when Erik was going to give his men orders to pack up and move out, Achen returned with word of a counter-attack. Apparently Franz Klein, stationed at the
North-Eastern most building in town, just before some tank obstacles, spotted some Americans or what not headed their way. Erik cussed, and he ordered for his men to stay put and hidden, and to only open fire when the enemy was in range.

The day was sweltering, and the sun seemed to pull the life from your bones. The wary group pushed on through the street as they had been told. Had to get to the edge of town and regroup with the rest of the men for a small mission, little bit of the hush hush stuff. Captain Patterson kept his men alert by asking them about the area and if they remembered where the last rally point that was set was. Small things to keep their minds sharp. They couldn't wait to get inside, where the shade provided little protection, but more than they were being afforded.

They rounded the last corner and saw the edge of town, they had arrived a few minutes ahead of schedule so they figured they would go ahead and secure the building themselves until the rest of the men arrived. As they went around the last building needed they noticed tracks in the area, they were in a file, but they weren't that of locals. Locals wore sandals or nothing at all, these tracks had the distinction of boots "Split up." Patterson said slightly louder than a whisper. The words barely had time to escape his mouth before the men split up and moved into two different buildings.

Private Vannoy went with Patterson and the fraction of his security detail that went with him, the rest of the men split off to the left in the shorter building. "Vannoy, get to the roof and see if you can see anything. Macier, Strother cover the front door, I have the back one, I can still see the other men for a bit from here." The men as they were told and scattered about in the buildings.

The men in the shorter building spotted a German soldier in the middle of the road near some debris and had a small line of sight to fire at him. Armstrong saw him first and told the other two men with him as he knelt, aimed and fired on him before ducking to his left behind the wall and chambered another round. Private Fair followed suit but moved to the right side of the door. Rogers moved into position and fired as well, but he moved to the back of the door area as to hopefully be hidden in the darkness.

As Vannoy was about to surface on the roof he heard the shots. As he came onto the rooftop he stayed low behind the small wall at the top that circled the area. Vannoy peered over to see a German soldier on the roof top to the north and some rubble to the west. He scurried back down stairs and told the Captain the information he had before returning to his post.

I would appreciate some help, Dan, on marking this please. I'm trying to make a website update (images/writing descriptions/etc) and mark/close threads as I go along - not to mention trying to RP when I get the chance... So I really do need the help, please.

All I seem to be doing when I logon is Mod-Mark, Close threads, Reply to PMs. I'm going stalemate when the big battle occurs.

CPT. Pattersion:

• I'm guessing all 'three' units fired ONE shot? (PVTS: Rogers, Fair and Armstrong)
  
  - PVT. Armstrong's rifle round fell short off it's mark, by a matter of inches. Hitting the dirt and kicking up a plough of sand.
  
  - PVT. Fair's bullet however, surprisingly caught PVT. Eichel's leg within the brief few seconds apart from the first shot. The bullet thumped into PVT. Eichel's thigh and lodged deep, rendering the unit immobile from running/walking (crawling and dragging their way along would also be very painful).
  
  - PVT. Roger's bullet inaccurately missed - perhaps nerves?

Henrik Eichel's black boots dug into the coarse sand as he patrolled the desert. The sweltering heat almost gave him a heatstroke, as he was dressed in a full Waffen SS uniform. He removed his helmet for a second and wiped the sweat from his forehead, so it didn't sting his eyes. His K98 rifle resting against the rubble of what seemed to be a former convoy truck. He placed his helmet backed on and looked towards the west. What was the shining in the door of dimly-light house? CRACK! A bullet fired out of the building, but missed its mark, shooting sand up into Henrik's face. Before Henrik could make a run for a cover, yet another bullet was fired out of the door way. This one dug its way into Henrik's thigh, making his left leg useless. With a scream, Henrik slipped backwards into the sand, a random bullet firing overhead.

"AMERIKANER! AMERIKANER! DAS GEBÄUDE ZUM OSTEN! AMERIKANER! TÖTEN SIE JENE GEMEINEN BASTARD!" Henrik's hand clawed at the sand, desperate to drag himself away before another round of bullets were heading his way. He screamed in pain and agony. His thigh burned so bad he could barely drag himself. Clenching his teeth together, he grabbed a hold of his rifle and used it in order to pull himself up. He held it on his left side, and lifted his left leg up, hopping with his right foot and using the rifle to help balance. The pain still ran through his thigh. It was almost unbearable. As soon as he managed to hope into the city hall, he collapsed on the floor still shouting.

Jonas was the first to hear the violent screams of the injured Henrik, and rushed into the room Erik was salvaging documents from. "Herr Obersturmfuhrer. Mag ich gehen, Henrik zu unterstützen?" Erik shook his head and jammed in the last document he could into his back pack. "Kein gehe ich zu Henrik. Stellen Sie in den Ostenraum dieses Hauses und in Unterhaltuhrüberschuß auf, daß Gebäude, von dem Henrik behauptet, die Schüsse abgefeuert wurden. Ich unterstütze Henrik rüber zum Nordostende der Stadt. Wir haben die Dokumente und diese Männer haben vermutlich Verstärkungen. Eine vollständige Firma möglicherweise. Wir gehen, sobald wir genügend Beschädigung getan haben. Wenn es gibt, zu viele Amerikaner, die vom Osten wünsche ich hereinkommen, Sie zurück fallen Jonas. Keine Notwendigkeit, einen Soldaten heute zu verlieren. "

Jonas set up in the furthest West room of the city hall and trained his rifle on the door. He could see Adrian doing the same. For a second, Adrian swore he had seen someone emerge on the roof top of the building to the South, but it was only out of the corner of his eye, and when he looked to check he saw nothing. But he would make sure he kept an eye on it. No need to be shot in the back. Besides it was empty and perfect to flank the squad, why wouldn't the Americans use it to their advantage? Jonas and Adrian both fired a single round into the room. Perhaps it would hit someone or at least have a demoralizing effect on the men taking refuge within its walls.

Erik descended the stairs of the 3-story building until he reached the bottom floor. He cussed as he saw Henrik collapse on the floor screaming. He rushed to his side and attempted to soothe him and calm him down. "Stillestille Henrik. Ich werde Sie aus hier heraus erhalten. Mir werde Sie zum Nordosten genommen. Erhielten die Hölle aus dieser Stadt heraus, bevor mehr ihrer Männer oben darstellen, und waren im Begriff, einige Amerikaner im Prozeß auszuführen. Nicht Sie Sorge. Nicht Sie Sorge. " Erik heaved the man up and let Henrik's body lean against the right side of Erik's body to keep Henrik's left side supported. Henrik clasped his rifle tightly, as did Erik to his MP44, and the two set out for the North-Eastern edge of town.

On the way to the edge of town, Erik stopped by Edmund Beike and Erwin Hertz to inform them of the plan. When the Americans began to overwhelm the city, they would slowly fall back from each building, until they were making the last stand in the building Franz Klein was currently in. The tank obstacles would also prevent any vehicles from following them, and most of the infantry wouldn't care to follow their retreat. They would believe they had won, not knowing the documents the Germans had gotten their hands on. Erik could only pray someone informed Adrian of the plan, but it was dangerous. The Americans were closet to him and could be able to overhear the plan or even attack the two men on the roof.

Erik helped escort Henrik to the tank obstacles. Henrik still seemed to be dealing with unbearable pain with each step he took, as he was gritting his teeth together and grimacing. Erik set him down against the tank obstacle furtherest from the town. "Sie sind okay hier Recht? Wenn die Zeit kommt, erhalten wir Sie aus hier heraus. Verwenden Sie hier dieses, um Druck an der Wunde anzuwenden. " Henrik nodded, and Erik patted him on the shoulder. The two wish each other good luck, and Erik sprinted to where he had found Henrik, staring at the door from which Henrik was shot. If they had to fall back, Erik's MP44 would be perfect to give them cover as they did.

I will assist Henrik over to the North-East end of town. We have the documents, and these men probably have reinforcements. A whole company maybe. We will leave as soon as we have done enough damage. If there are too many Americans coming in from the West I want you to fall back Jonas. No need to lose a soldier today. "

- "Hush hush Henrik. I'm going to get you out of here. I'm taken you to the North-East. Were getting the hell out of this town before more of their men show up, and were gonna take out some Americans in the process. Don't you worry. Don't you worry. "

OOC: The red dot in the street is the current Erik, not the one in teh building. Sorry the post is so long and some of the movement in the map may be confusing. Oh and JT when editing the map and erasing my movement and fire and such, I know some of the color of the sand will be erased, just try your best to make the same sand color in the custom colors and fill it in. As long as it looks kinda like sand, it doesn't matter.

Hey Erik, would you mind leaving out the "Line of View"? I don't think it's really necessary unless you're perhaps a marksman (sniper) or lone wolf (perhaps a spy), covering your back and proving your line of sight when gathering intelligence for example or gaining that crucial hit.

As Infantryman (Storm-Troopers/SS) they already know you're there I think the line of view will only help to degrade your map faster. It's more lines to erase when editting the map and windows or objects may become obscured or wonky... From the re-drawing of it. So it's best to leave the L.O.S/V out in my personal opinion. None the less, if you wish to keep it, than do so. Just saying, it's not necessary on my behalf.

Great post thou; I'm really happy you've got a good squad of men to command now. Your leadership skills are shining through.

Lt. Schneider:

• PVTs: Jonas & Adrian both fired one shot each into the West Building.
  - PVT, Jonas's bullet zipped into the musky room with a cracking speed, the bullet slitting straight over Pvt. Roger's right shoulder, causing a deep, but minor flesh wound to break open, as Pvt. Roger's blood spattered against the wall behind him and bullet exiting the flesh thumped into the concrete; causing a hole within the structure right behind him.
  
  - PVT, Adrian's Bullet cut across the same path as Jonas's successful blind-round, momentarily stopping anyone from reaching wounded Pvt. Roger's, intemidating the men within the room temporarily that they had projectiles incoming from different angles...
  
  - The bullet however didn't make an impact, as it thumped narrowly close to Pvt, Armstrong, embedding within the wall adjacent to his body.

OOC: Sorry it's so long, lot going on.



"I think we hit him!" Rogers exclaimed to the other two men with him. They were getting anxious to dive right into combat, but they were unaware it would find them sooner. "Lot of movement out there guys..." He said nervously "...I think I hear footsteps too." He barely had time to put the period on the end of his sentence when a bullet came zipping in. The two men hugged the walls, they hadn't noticed Roger's had been hit until he scream through his grit teeth. "AAHHHHHH!!! They shot me." he yelled as he slumped to the floor clutching his shoulder.

Private Fair grabbed his boots and pulled him to the side. "How bad is it?" he asked, Rogers just shook his head. "Can you still fire?" Rogers nodded as he gripped his rifle. They knew he would have a difficult time aiming, but at least he might be able to keep their heads down.

"Dang!! Sounds like they hit one of the boys. Macier, Strother, let's get in this thing. One of you bring Vannoy down here." Macier nodded and headed off to the stairs. "Stay quiet, I don't think they know we are here yet, or at least can't see us well enough to shoot at us." Macier nodded once more and set off to get Vannoy. Strother peered out the doorway as best he could to try and see if there were any enemy soldiers near, but with no success. The men appeared back from the roof "Vannoy, once you get back to the roof, count to ten, so you can ease your breathing and then I want you to fire on the man you saw on the roof next to us, make one well aimed shot, you should get that one for free, the rest, well just try and keep him scared if you can." Vannoy nodded through the whole explanation, he knew he was needed for more than to scare the enemy. "Make sure to duck back behind the wall to reload, but make sure you move to a different spot before you come back up so he doesn't have his sights trained where your skull will be." Vannoy wiped some sweat off his brow as he continued to nod. Macier, Strother, we are going in that building to get this guy, I don't know who is all in there, hopefully he is alone, each of you pass one clip off to Vannoy, just in case he has to keep this guy pinned for a bit until we get there. Vannoy, as soon as you see any of us emerge onto the roof, just hit the dirt, he should keep his focus on you since you probably fooled him by moving earlier. We are gonna rush him, after we shoot at him of course." He checked the chamber on his grease gun and gave a slow and firm nod to the men. Vannoy crept back to the roof, and the other two stacked on the doorway.

"Get that guy man!" Rogers said as he took hold of Fair's collar and shook him a bit. Fair was doing his best to stay calm, but the heat made everyone on edge already. "I can cover you, besides, the others should be coming up behind these guys any minute. We gotta hold out until they get here, don't want to leave these guys waitin for them too!" Rogers' adrenaline was through the roof, but he had made a valid point. They couldn't leave, not until they grouped up with the rest of their men at least.

"Right, right, uh, take off your belt and try to use it to wrap around your arm and shoulder to keep pressure on the wound we will get him. Armstrong?" He turned as he helped Rogers wiggle a bit to get his belt off.

"Yeah, we'll get him, you just hang on." Armstrong racked his brain to figure out how to get the guy. "Let's go around back, that way they might not know we're comin! Yeah!" He was as surprised as the rest of them, he wasn't known for his planning, he was known to do what he was asked, never asked any questions either. They chambered a round for Rogers and put his rifle in his hands. "Just keep him ducking man." He set off toward the door they came in with Fair in hot pursuit. They were both worried about leaving him alone, but they had to get in the fight, they didn't want Patterson jumping on them for letting emotions interfere.

"Go." Patterson whispered from behind the two privates. As soon as they went through the door on the front of the other building they heard Vannoy's shots start ringing out. If we are lucky, he got him on the first one, could happen, he shook his head as the thought ran through it. "Clear, move to the stairs, let's get there before he runs low!" He yelled out, knowing the fire above would drown his voice out. I was hoping to be further along than this when he started firing! He gritted his teeth as the moved to the second floor. "Ladder, GO!!" They hadn't completely cleared the second floor, but if anyone wanted to follow them up the ladder, they would be waiting. Patterson went first to the shock of his men, but he knew they would need to hit this guy fast. As soon as his body came up through the opening he scanned the roof, the German couldn't have been more than fifteen feet away. Patterson leaned over on his elbows, his legs still danging, keeping the two inside in suspense. He rolled to his right so they could come springing up as well, then he layed on the trigger. The grease gun fired round after round in the direction of the German, the smoke filling the air. Vannoy's rounds ceased and he hit the deck as quick as he could, hoping the other three made it just fine. As Soon as Macier pulled Strother up they sprinted toward the guy, screaming to try and intimidate him. As soon as Patterson saw them move toward the German, he let off the trigger, mag had about five rounds left when he stood and let it fall to his side and swing from his sling, he followed his men after the German, screaming right along with his privates. They were set on ripping this guys head off as quickly as they could. Patterson watched as the pair reached the enemy first, Macier used his weapon like a baseball bat, and after he had swung, Strother pounced on the guy, then Patterson followed suit with Macier in the dog pile. Fists flew, teethed sneered, and a helmet rolled out of the pile up.

(That wasn't God modding, I wasn't saying we killed him, I was saying it for the comedic value.)

Fair heard Vannoy's shots and turned to see that Rogers took it as a cue. Rogers had started firing as well, but too soon. Fair smacked Armstrong on the shoulder as he turned around. The pair grabbed Rogers and pulled him back. "No, no, no, too soon man, too soon. Dang it! Don't tell the Saint about this." Fair seemed to always be trying to cover someone else's tail in the unit, he was just hoping to get to do it in combat, that way he might get something out of it.

Well, it's kinda obvious what I have to do...

The following Actions have been made;

Captain Patterson:

• Private Vannoy firing continuous shots from his rifle, one of the bullets did lodge itself in NPC Private Adrian Jaegar's shoulder.
  
  
• The rest of the group rushed up the stairs and not heard by Private Jaegar until it was too late, opened fire from close range with separate weapons, killing the enemy unit in a second.
  
  
• (This is the part I'm confused on; Did rogers fire on Jonas? 'Cos that's what I'm going with.) Private Rogers fired a shot from his Lee-Enfield rifle, but didn't succeed in doing any damage.

Slowly and steadily, Adrian exhaled and inhaled. He cussed under his breath as he crouched down, staring into the darkness of the house before him. Every few seconds he would turn his head sideways, to check if he was going to get flanked. About a minute passed, and Adrian turned his head sideways and BAM. A shot pierced his shoulder. With a blood-curdling yell, he was knocked backwards against the ledge of the rooftop, his blood stained the white desert home red. He groaned because of the bullet lodged in his shoulder blade. A group of 3 Americans stormed the roof top, and Adrian raised his arms. He couldn't fight anymore. His rifle had been dropped a foot away when he was shot and he was bleeding viciously from his shoulder. "Schießen Sie nicht! Schießen Sie nicht!" Adrian meekly shouted out, but the Americans didn't seem to care they each separately fired a bullet into his chest, and in a second young Adrian's life was cut short.

Jonas had his right eye closed tightly, and his left eye was aiming down the sites of his rifle, waiting for a hand or a head to pop out. He knew he was going to have to make an accurate shot, as Adrian was a bit nervous that there was someone trying to come up from behind. Jonas shook his head, believing one of his best friends from training was just being a bit of a coward. But then it happened. A bullet rang out, but it was neither Jonas or Adrian's bullet. Adrian was laying on the ground, a fatal bullet wound in his shoulder, surrendering to the Americans. Without hesitation, the Americans screaming like wild men, shot Jonas's best friend to death.

"SIE BUMSENDE BASTARD!" An angry Jonas screamed at the Americans. He mimicked their yelling and sent three well- aimed accurate shots their way. One he aimed towards the upper chest hoping it might hit the mans head or neck, another he fired at the torso not having the time to accurately aim at the head, and the last bullet was towards one of the mens lower torso. There was a bullet for each of the bastardly Americans who had killed his friend.

Erik was aiming down the street, his brand-new, sleek MP44 trained on the door. A shot echoed in the small desert city, and as Erik glanced over to Adrian to see what the commotion was, he watched Adrian's death unfold before his eyes. Angry for the loss of one of his Privates and a good man...man, he bet Adrian wasn't even old enough to drink. Erik cussed multiple times under his breath, before most of the 3 American murderers bodies were in his sights. He could hear Jonas yelling and firing, so he followed in suit, sending a volley of bullets headed their way. As he unloaded a full clip of ammo towards the Americans, in bursts of 3-4 to bullets sometime in a burst of more, he hoped to either cut them down or send them running home to mommy. "JONAS! FALL ZURÜCK! FALL ZURÜCK! WIR ZIEHEN ZURUCK. Ich BEDECKE SIE SOLDAT!" The young German soldier obeyed his Obersturmfuhrer's commands and rushed down the stairs and out the door towards the rubble next to where Franz Klein was taking shelter as Erik sent another volley of bullets towards the Americans, almost another full clip of ammo, before he fell back to the rubble himself.

As Edmund Beike witnessed an American emerge onto the rooftop of a building to the left and fire a shot at Adrian, he immediately fired off two shots at the American bastard. Then three Americans emerged onto Adrian's rooftop and brutally murdered him, the savages. Angered, he watched as Jonas sent three bullets their way and Erik sent volley after volley. Beike decided to help kill the Americans that murdered one of his friends, and fired off the last 3 bullets in his clip at the Americans, right to their backs, 3 well aimed shots. Then he loaded in another clip into his rifle, and began to retreat towards Beike's building, the fall back building, where they were going to kick some American ass and leave before more Americans could come.

Erwin became fully alert when a bullet rang off. He saw Adrian slouched down, blood gushing out of his shoulder with his hands raised. Then three more bullets from three Americans on the rooftop killed him. Just as pissed as the next man who had been friends with the comedic Adrian, he began to fire onto them. He could hear all the bullets that were headed the bastards way from all directions. He fired off a full clip of his rifle before falling back. 3 for the Captain, 1 each for the men standing next to him. He yelled some violent cuss words at them, before descending to the first floor, meeting up with Beike, and pulled back towards Kleinz house.

Franz Klein watched everything unfold before his eyes. Adrian was dead, and 3 Americans who had idiotically decided to climb onto a roof top and kill him while they were completely surrounded by his German comrades with good defensive positions, were being fired at like crazy. Why not join the fun? He might be able to hit one from here and he had a lot of extra clips of ammo. He lined up his shots and 3 bullets at the one more to the left, 2 at the one in the middle, and one at the one towards the right. Then he jammed in another clip, and made sure he could provide cover while the others fell back.

"Gut Männer, nehmen defensive Positionen auf. Ich wünsche 1 von Ihnen im 2. Stock, 1 auf dem Dach und den Rest auf dem ersten Stockwerk. Erik barked out to the men and then ordered them to do what he had told them. Klein was already on the 2nd floor and was watching to the West, Beike volunteered to go to the roof top, Hertz was in the first floor watching the West and covering the door, and Erik and Jonas were out behind the rubble of a large truck. "WENN SIE JENE VERFLUCHTEN AMERIKANER SEHEN, NAH ZU ERHALTEN, FEUERN SIE AB!"

Okay, Erik. I have a bone to pick with you. Having all your units fire, is totally fine, but having them run across half the map out of ‘two/three’ story buildings and even from the roof in an allotted time period just seems to push the boundaries a little.

You have to calm down with all the long distant movements of your units, because I find it extremely hard at times to comprehend the time consistency going on. I mean, the time it took for all your units to fall back out of the buildings AND take up defensive positions, Patterson or his men could’ve (supposedly) rushed you or been hot on your tails. Some of the movements made are totally fine, but some are also pushing the limits… So just be thoughtful at times, I mean, in some of the movements you’ve clearly run across open ground. Any of Pattersons’s units could’ve taken a snipe at your guys… I see some clear lines of fire in which they could’ve hit you. So just be mindful.


Lt. Schneider:

• I’ll list the following shots done in Unit Order;
  - Jonas (Don’t have a clue what floor he’s on, you mentioned him running down some stairs, so I’m guessing 2nd or 3rd floor): Firing three shots from the opposite building, one of them accurately PVT.Macier within his place, had he been standing a mere few inches to his left, CPT. Patterson would’ve suffered a fatal torso wound.
  
  - The bullet cut into his abdomen and knocked the unit down, shooting again, the bullet finished PVT Macier off, as it lodged into his torso again. The last bullet narrowly missed anyone else.
  
  
• Erik: Firing a whole clip from his MP44, the bullets zipped and cut up against the side of the building, cascading debris onto the soldiers atop of the building. From the prior shots by Jonas, it’s quite obvious Patterson and his men wouldn’t have been standing around…
  
  
• Beike: Firing two shots at PVT. Vannoy, one inaccurately missed and the other sparked off Vannoy’s rifle, damaging the barrel a little; Although it’s slightly damaged, it may still be functional to use, but risks may occur chancing it…
  
  - Firing another two shots at the Americans on the roof top, one bullet missed, whilst the other bounced from off the ground and slit across PVT Strother’s helmet, knocking his headgear off, narrowly missing his head altogether.
  
  
• Erwin: Firing three shots at CPT. Patterson from a long range, the bullets sliced close, one of them ripping through CPT. Patterson’s left hand, causing a bloody flesh wound.
  
  - Firing another two shots at the soldiers, neither hit any of the targets.
  
  
• Franz: Firing SIX bullets at the enemy, due to the long distance, they just about inaccurately missed their marks, also, I’m sort off voiding these shots made, due to the fact the ‘TOWN CENTER’ is blocking any proper view of fire upon the units and due to Franz’s position at the back of the building, he wouldn’t have any means of sight on the targets.

[MAJ Patterson]

The incoming fire rained down with such force they felt as if they had just woken a sleeping company of pissed off Germans. The two near Patterson hit the ground about the same time he did. "Holy shhh....AAAAAHHH!!!!" Patterson yelled out in agony as a bullet passed through his hand, leaving him with a burning sensation along with the large amount of pain. He looked to his left. "GOD!!! You okay?" Strother's eyes looked as if they were trying to escape from his skull. He would probably soil himself before it was all over. Patterson rolled to his left, "Mmmmm...Mace you goo..." he couldn't finish his sentence, there was no point. Macier was covered in his own blood, the rooftop was starting to turn red as well, as his blood flowed toward the wall in a slow, purposeful manner. "NO!!! GOD NO!!!" Patterson cried out, it was the only sound Strother could hear above the gunfire. Patterson had served with Macier protecting him for a while now. Patterson was not the emotional type but he could get furious if pushed. Well now it is our turn KRAUTS!!! How does it feel. He thought as he started to crawl over to the edge of the wall.

As the incoming fire died off he peered over the edge of the small wall. Falling back huh? Fine with me, if you all go to the same place, I don't have to aim as much. "Strother,check on Vannoy! Strother! I need you to focus for me, we aren't out of this yet! Check on Vannoy!" He ordered, Strother snapped to as he crawled to the opposite wall.

"Vannoy! VANNOY!!! You okay?!?!" Strother yelled out. Vannoy's head slowly rose into view. His eyes were not much better that Strother's had been. The men hadn't seen combat before this day, and one of them would never see it again, he was the lucky one. After a brief conversation between Strother and Vannoy, Strother learned that Vannoy's rifle was possibly inoperable. "Sir, Vannoy's rifle, it was hit."

Without turning around, the Captain replied "Give him Macier's." Strother looked puzzled, but as he turned it all came to light. He picked up Macier's rifle and looked it over. A tear rolled down his cheek, collecting the powdered sand that had been kicked up in all the commotion. "Tell him to go to the building north of us, to the roof, I think they have backed themselves into a corner. Tell him to get who he can from the other guys to go with him. Tell him to send the wounded man up here with me. You go with them too Strother. Open fire as soon as all of you are there, not a moment sooner!!" Strother swallowed hard, they were not going to leave, they were going to push on. He thought of questioning his Captain, but a second thought reassured him that was not the best idea.

"Vannoy! Come outside, I'll drop this rifle down to you, go north, to that building, to the roof!" Strother said as he pointed behind himself. "Captain says we are gonna end this thing! Get the other guys on your way! Send the wounded up here!" Vannoy nodded as he headed down the stairs and came outside. He hadn't blinked in a while. Strother dropped the rifle down to him, with a slight bobble, Vannoy took hold and set off. Strother set off down the ladder and the stairs. He went out the back and around the ruble for cover. He was the first to the roof.

"Guys, get to the roof of uh..." As he turned, not knowing how to tell them but to point, he saw Strother move across the alleyway and disappear into the building. "Yeah, that building." He looked them over and saw Rogers. "Captain said you are to go with him. He is on the roof of the one Strother just came out of." They all nodded, not knowing what had all happened and set out.

Rogers made it to the roof, painfully, tears leaving trails down his face from having to scale the ladder with his shoulder in the condition it was. "Rogers here sir...Oh God!" The Captain turned and put a finger to his lips, quietly telling Rogers to shut up. Rogers nodded as he slid toward the Captain, keeping his gaze set on Private Macier's lifeless body.

The helmet slipped out of his grip and plunged to the sand. Gritting his teeth, the young Obersturmfuhrer ran his gritty, dirty hands through his golden yellow hair. His face and his hair; hell his whole body, was covered in sand and sweat. He breathe in the air slowly and deeply, the sweltering heat that beat down on the men made the air a little bit harder to breathe. The young German's piercing blue eyes glanced over to the even younger German at his side, Jonas Achen. The young, inexperienced Schütze was already began to show boldness and courage during his first glimpse of combat. Now the Schütze had a confused, quizzical look on his face. "Warum sind Sie so ruhiger Herr Obersturmfuhrer? Die Amerikaner konnten unser Position Recht dieser Moment aufladen, und Sie scheinen nicht, sogar dich zu kümmern. "

Erik slipped his helmet back onto his head, and patted it down a bit to make sure it was securely on. "Sie sehen Achen, die Amerikaner würden nicht aufladen uns blind. Sie würden vermutlich versuchen, eine Weise zu finden, uns zu umgeben und in Verlegenheit zu bringen ....." Erik's eyes widened a little. He cursed under his breath as he stared at the three-story building to their left, four-stories if the roof was counted. "Sie sind most likely Gehen zu versuchen, an das Dach des Rathauses zu gelangen, um uns in Verlegenheit zu bringen. Selbst wenn sie nicht, können wir nicht die Gefahr nehmen. Stellen Sie sicher, daß Ihr Gewehr geladenes richtig Achen ist. Sie kommen mit mir. "

Erik slipped a clip of MP44 ammo out of a pouch on his belt and tore off the previous clip that was half-empty. As he jammed the clip into his weapon, he could have swore he heard boots in the city hall across the street. Had the Americans already got into the building without being sighted? Erik would be furious if his men had allow such a thing to happen. He grasped Achen's shoulder, and the young Schutze turned to look back and nodded. He was ready. If they dashed across the street, it was highly unlikely for them to be hit. If there was actually an American ready to shoot upon their position, Erik figured his men who were battle-ready watching the houses before the squad would notice.

Erik gave Jonas a shove and the two jumped to their feet and made their focus the door across the street. They sprinted for their dear lives. Upon arriving in the building, the duo made their way across the floor making sure the ground floor was clear before they made their way up the flight of stairs in the far left corner of the floor. As the Germans began to ascend up the stairs, Erik stopped and motioned for Jonas to stop as well. He could hear boots crunching against sand. Erik directed for Jonas to set up behind a couch near the stairs which would be to the left of the arriving Americans, perfect to flank them. Hopefully Jonas had a bayonet on him. Erik set up across from the door, behind an overturned table. Jonas had indeed slipped the standard bayonet onto his rifle, in case the Americans attempted to charge his position, he would be able to give a fatal bayonet wound.

The two Germans remained hidden in the room as the three Americans, most likely Privates, rushed into the room. So Erik had been correct about the American's going to pin his men down. Well, usually officer training gives you such ideas. Like the ambush the two German's had just set up for the foolish Americans. Little did they know, they were walking right into the trap. As soon as the Americans arrived in the room, Erik called out to his Schutze, Jonas, and the two emerged from behind their cover. The Obersturmfuhrer fired off short bursts from his MP44, aimed at the chests of the each of the men, hoping to cut them down accurately. Jonas had jumped up from behind his cover, and taken him for the nearest soldier, firing off the most well-aimed shot he could take. Then he repeated the process once more.

The fire across the street in the city hall startled the Germans. Erwin decided to take charge in the Obersturmfuhrer's absence. He charged up the stairs and yelled out to his fellow Privates. "Oben, hören Jungen! Ich nehme Aufladung für jetzt. Klein, wünsche ich Sie aufrechterhalten, jene Gebäude heraus ablichtend dort. Das erhalten? Kümmern Sie sich nicht das um Rathaus für jetzt, sie konnte einen Angriff irgendwo gründen heraus dort! Beike! Überprüfen Sie jedes verfluchte Fenster, das Sie können! Lichten Sie die Leiste des Dachs zweimal ab! Lassen Sie einen einzelnen Mann nicht nach diesem Gebäude abfeuern. Sie verstehen!?!" Beike and Klein decided Erwin was the most fit to take command now that both Erik and Jonas were gone. They agreed with their fellow Schutze and did as he ordered. Jonas returned to the first floor, and tried to get a good view of the four buildings to the South.

As Edmund Beike was scanning the whole East-side of the city hall from the building's roof, he could swear he saw something moving on the roof. He scanned the roof's ledge three times, before believing he spotted what seemed to be an American. It sure as hell wasn't black or grey, so it definitely couldn't be German. Beike sighed and closed his left eye and lined up the iron sights on the figure. His finger slowly pressed down on the trigger, squeezing off a shot. Beike released the bullet shell using the bolt, and took aim a second time. A second bullet was squeezed off.

Translations:

Don't let a single man fire upon this building. You understand!?!"

Okay, Erik.
I'm highly confused by your moves all the time, at the beginning of this thread, you made some long distant runs (which would've exerted you) and now you've called the mass retreat of all your men, even from the Town Center building; Only to go back into it (with Jonas who you called out of the building) to set up a trap?

I must admit, great move, this would've nailed CPT. Patterson's advancing party, but at this stage in the thread, with the mass running you've done in the climate of Africa and very strange tactical movements as a C.O (not really kept your units stablized to an extent), I hope you understand my following mod-marks made;

Lt. Schneider:

• Ehausted from the running and the heat, running all the way back into the Town Center (remember, as you were retreating, Patterson's party moved up within that allotment of time as-well and if you were to set up a trap, why retreat from the building in the first place!?) Lt. Schneider hardly had enough time to set up a trap, as Patterson's units came prowling through;
  
  - Exhauted Lt. Schneider fired short bursts from his MP44, but the heavy equipment and fatigue caused Lt. Schneider's bullets to spray, rather than penertrate accurately.
  
  - One bullet did however manage to cut through PVT. Vannoy's left arm and a proceeding bullet through his left leg. Both wounds minor, but deep gashes as the bullets exited the body.
  
  PVT. Jonas: Firing in session with his Commanding Officer, didn't manage to hit anything - due to the fact the advancing party had stumbled into their trap in mid progress of them taking aim and setting up, allowing them to take evasive reactions.
  

So Lt. Schneider, this move would've been deadly if you hadn't already run across half of the map in your previous posts and more so, retreated from the building, only to move back into it again (think that's a little strange personally). So instead of voiding your posts, those actions have been made.

PVT. Fair:

• Shooting off towards a target on top of the corressponding building twice, the bullets cracked and chipped at the wall, the target being a little too high for an appropriate aim.

Patterson peered over the side of the small wall that surrounded the roof he and Rogers were perched on. He had heard some fire come from the building his men were in, a large amount of fire actually. He saw the debris falling from near the area Strother was I told him to stay low! but no harm came, as the fire below started to erupt more violently Strother hit the stairs before Patterson could even lift his arm to get his attention. "Let's make sure they are not joined by any more company Rogers!" and with that he sat back on one knee and began to pour three to five round bursts into the building the German's had come from, not particularly aiming, just try to keep his shots close to windows and doors and any other place someone might hide. He emptied two full magazines into the place. Rogers didn't hesitate either, noticing that Captain was not particularly concerned with accuracy he fired almost as fast as he could, maybe they would think there were more Allies than first believed, he finished off his third clip before ducking back. He reloaded shortly after Patterson had done so.

"HOLY SHI....!!!!" Fair yelled out as the trio burst through the door of the town hall. the three hadn't even stopped sliding on their feet before they were fired upon from two directions. They all wrapped up their heads with their arms and hit the floor, for the most part hey were as lucky as anyone could have been in such a tight spot, Vannoy moaned a bit as they went down, but it seemed to be a minor wound. Vannoy hadn't completely hit the floor, but he rolled and sat up against the wall as he leveled off his rifle in the direction of what looked to be the lower ranking man and fired off a shot. Armstrong tried getting to his feet, but Fair gave no such effort, he brought one knee under him and brought himself up a bit and followed Vannoy's example as he fired a round as well at the lower ranking man, both Vannoy and fair chambered a round at the same time, as they did Armstrong reached his feet. He shouldered his rifle and followed suit, chambering his next round as the other two trained their rifles on the officer, Armstrong stepped back and sighted in on the lower ranking German soldier, but before he could get his sights completely on him he heard a noise in the stairwell.

Strother had come full steam from the roof and turned into the room to be presented with the back of a German Officer. He took a deep breath as he tried to slow his pace from a sprint to a stop, his last step having more force than normal as he planted it into the back of the Officers knee, not a kick mind you, but he was simply walking through the back half of the man, leaving his foot where it had landed on the back of the man's leg, not letting the man move should he falter to the ground. He pulled his rifle up as he took another deep breathe and stuck it dead in the middle of the man's spine, towards the top, if he had to fire, he would be paralyzed should the bullet miss the German's heart or anything else vital for that matter. "DROP IT!!! DROP IT NOW!!!" Strother yelled out trying to sound as fearful as possible and pushed the business end of his rifle further into the man's back. Fair and Vannoy with their rifles trained on the man that didn't have the rank, both motioned for him to drop his weapon as well. All four men had looks in their eyes to turn a lesser man into a crying babe. Should the German's do anything other than they were instructed to do, and do it slowly mind you, they would all fire, weather one of them complied or not, they both had to do so.

Following actions have been made; Patterson, I'm a little confused to how many shots your guys fired in the town center building, you seem to be aiming at two targets at once almost and the number of shots made I'm unsure too. So maybe it's worth adding a list at the bottom in future

CPT. Patterson & Rogers: Both firing volleys of fire towards the opposing enemy building, neither managed to muster enough firepower to infiltrate or hit any targets within. Although, the rate and continous firing has intemidated those within to think twice about moving into any clean view of sight (such as windows/doorways).

Pvt. Vannoy: In extreme pain from 'two' bullet wounds to his left side, his shots missed their mark narrowly, as they bounced from off the adjacent wall towards Jonas; Kicking out debris.

Pvt Fair: Shooting a round towards Jonas, the bullet cut through the man's leg, sending him to the ground almost instantly in the process.

Pvt. Armstrong: His bullet casually missed Jonas, as the enemy unit fell to the ground during the process of being hit by a comrade's bullet.

Pvt. Strother:

- Managing to kick his foot into the back of Erik's knee, the Lieutenant fell to one knee, still wielding his Assault Rifle (hasn't disarmed him by making this move).

- During the process of running down the stairs, Erik was wise from the beginning of Strother approaching behind him, so as Strother lunged his Rifle towards the Lieutenant's back, it thumped off his shoulder due to a instinctive reaction made by Erik... Faltering no injury, other than a painful bruise in the morning.

- So the pushing of the butt-end of the rifle into his back, didn't cause any pain, as it merely caused Erik's body to turn bit by bit from his position half knelt on the ground.

Hey PuNk! I apologize for the amount of shots confusion, but Strother wasn't trying to hit Erik with his rifle, and it wasn't the butt end, he was just putting the barrel end into his back to let him know it was there. basically to say "I could kill you, don't do anything stupid."
