The Team
- Lieutenant Nicholas Ealing: (Leader)
- Sergeant Major Andrew Ryan: (Second-in-Command)
- Flight Lieutenant Charles Norris: (Air Support)
- Master Sergeant Daniel Brennan: (Squad Engineer)
- Sergeant George O'Brian: (Squad Radio Operator)
- Corporal Benjamin Shirley: (Squad Marksman)
As some of you may have gleamed from reading Nicholas' Journal, he is to ship out to Britanny in the near future. And some of you will be going with him.
Britanny is a region of France, situated in the far North, but has, historically, a very different culture and identity. A Celtic nation, it is most akin to Wales and Cornwall, the three sharing a very similar language, and was a nation in its own right until the mid medieval period where it was analgamated into France. Since then, the French have gone to great lengths to stamp out the land's language and culture, similar to English activities in Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
The storyline is based on real events from 1942-1943 in Northern France, where a number of Bretons actively collaborated with the Nazis, creating such hostile organizations as Gwenn ha Du (Black and White) and Bezen Kadoubal (Kadoubal's Army). The Breton National Party even had a militant wing and was closely linked to the German Military Intelligence, Abwehr. In short, the people of Britanny were a very real thorn in France's side, leading to the assassination of many key figures by the French Resistance.
Nicholas Ealing has been ordered to set up a small group of elite members of the 3ID to set off to France and to help gain intelligence on the militant Breton nationalists and to even quell the ringleaders completely. The storyline is still very much in the planning stage, but would any 3ID member be interested in taking part in "Operation Stormcrow"?
