Moderation Post:
[/b][/center]I've read through a majority of the posts and most importantly, Heiko's moderation posts and come to the following final verdict and criticism on his performance, speed to respond to a thread and general ability in dealing with members within a battle.
Good Performance:
With small encouragement to start with from myself and Dan, you soon altered your moderation posts to a more suitable template. A template I'm trying to enforce amongst the staff when moderating, so moderation posts don't seem as if they're just a bunch of dashed out lines. Can become rather confusing.
You also used the ability of 'morale' very effectively throughout the test and most importantly, logged unit injuries with a brief description.
This was a large battle to moderate for a newbie, but you've done extremely well and even used the initiative to slightly moderate unit reactions and movements during battle. Something I was keen to see when moderating, as reactions should be upheld by the moderator, not the member themselves. A loophole for minor god-modding against gunfire which may have hit in any given circumstance.
Overall, a good performance and lengthy moderations.
Bettering your performance:
I do understand this battle is amongst some of the larger battles fought on this site, but like always, there will be criticism.
Your layout (after a nift' pointer at the beginning) improved drastically and suddenly for the remainder of the battle, I was able to see who had morale strength, morale weakness and even what was wrong with particular injured units scattered within the battle.
Moderators all stick to a personalised colour, but I don't always stick to this scheme when moderating. I do try to breakdown my moderations into two parts. One side would be colour coded with my default moderation colour (red) and the opposite would be moderated in a blue colour mainly.
I did become slightly confused at points when reading through your moderations. You colour-coded titles, but then proceeded to use your default colour for the rest of the moderation, making the whole moderation post seeming a blur of one colour at points.
I feel it would have been better if you gave each side - Axis and Allies - a particular colour during your moderations, because unfortunately, you had to moderate a lot of actions and reactions of both sides during each of your moderations posts. Whereas commonly, it's just one side and a minor 'outcome' of the actions made towards the opposite side. If that makes sense to you? This time, because of the size of the battle, you had a lot of moderating to do for each side of the wire in each of your moderations and this undoubtedly can become confusing when painted in one blur of a colour, with random coloured titles to match.
If you look at this battle I'm currently moderating, you can see that my 'default' staff colour isn't being used. Instead, I've simplified the template of my moderations, by colour coding each part of the Allied and Axis within my moderations, with red and blue. The rest simply being a black. I've also used paragraph breaks ([ BR ]) to make things seem easier to the eye.
I'm not trying to turn you into me, but I'm just trying to point out a few easier options you could take when moderating larger battles in future, so things don't seem a total blur of dark-green. Can be quite off-putting and I'm sure all this red text feels that way too? So having moderations such as that, each and every time, can seem a bit daunting.
Otherwise, I have no concern with your moderation posts made.
Final Verdict:
In my eyes, you have listened to earlier criticism made by myself and Dan and bettered your moderations almost immediately. Should our criticism have continued, I have no doubt you would have taken what I said above into consideration and rectified your posts accordingly.
Overall, you have proven yourself a very worthy staff member and with patience, you've proven yourself eager for this position. Without anymore delay, I am happy to congratulate you on your promotion to moderator and following information will be sent to you via' PM in due-course.
So congratulations.
