Hey Everyone,
I do realise the war didn’t start 1944, that Britain and numerous other Allied Forces were struggling since 1939 to deter the Axis Frontier, but sadly, we lack English Characters on the board and what best to start off with a ‘Combination’ of Allied Forces on the invasion of D-Day.

(Before you ask, yes, Dunkirk Campaigns and other battles will also be fought in time to come)

This is the OFFICAL sign-up thread and DEBATE thread for the Epic Battle “Omaha Beach”.

Although we drastically need CO’s to play the commanding lead, this Epic Battle thread will drop to the nearest highest rank available to take lead, as any chain of command naturally would.

Does anyone have any questions about the Epic Battle thread?

I'd just like to say, every WIN/LOSS is crucial to the outcome of the campaign... If Omaha Beach is "Lost", not only will the Axis gain 'Extra Units/power' but the battle will hit 'South England' along the coastline of Devon, Portsmouth. Something that would've most likely occured by the Axis Powers if the Allies were crushed on D-Day...

But if Omaha beach is won, then the battle will continue alike history fortold, with other main events occuring to capture Normandy.

I have a question, if you die in an epic battle are dead completely? Kinda sounds odd I know but is dead just plain dead anywhere?

No it doesn't sound odd and to be honest, i'm not quite sure how to answer it...
This board is entirely Realistic, but what's the point in dying and being erased from the board? So ideally, let's just say, you can get 'WOUNDED' in each 'Battle' that'll occur throughout the the Normandy Campaign...

Simliar to the Combat threads, if you get TOO wounded, you will be advised to retreat. (leave the thread) Before you are mortally killed.

So yes, you can DIE, but you'll ALWAYS get MAJOR warnings if you was ever in danger, so you've always got the chance to retreat from the thread, or gamble. And keep going. But remember, i'm going to be issuing "DOZENS" Of NPC units per side for each battle thread, so ideally, your character will be a very small number and percentage to getting hurt/killed.

But war is war and yes, in answer to your question, you may still get killed.
Remember, someone has to earn the Medal of Honour - so i'm not gonna' make it easy.

Well, you've got a little while left to sign-up, the Epic Battle thread may be up 'Tomorrow'.
Depends how everyone is - for activity. Tomorrow seems best to start it, Saturday and i know quite a few people should be around here and there... So yeah, Sign-Up soon!


By the way, Gero won't get killed - Captain Wolfram is a good leader, i'm sure.

First of all, the German Lieutenant, Justin Kempster (Username: Jynx), unconditionally left the board, over a small dispute regarding a Combat Thread towards the beginning of this board.

To be honest, i'd rather he didn't return, because he made more aggrovation than fun - presumably always being right, from his perspective, making my life hell trying to Mod Mark posts (without complaints from him). So he's a no-go.

As for Captain Matherson, he sort off, left too?
I know he's a busy person, in the Cadets (Piloting) and before he left, he did say 'he wasn't going to give up' on this board? So whether he's just busy or forgotten to say hello - i'm not too sure. I'll E-mail him in due course, he is a fantastic Leader/Writer on the board, not to mention a previous Global Mod on a Prior World War board i owned.

And you know me, I have to come back in style, so I will be entering this Epic Battle for Normandy, fighting for the allies and, for the moment it appears that I will be assuming command as well.

Oh, and did I forget to mention that I’m pulling a battalion of 24 soldiers in with me? (Not including myself)

I'm so glad you've managed to make it back Chris!
I'd love to have you play a role' in the new Epic Campaign (for Normandy). So congratulations on being the newly 1st in Command. I'm sure McMillan wouldn't mind

Also -- your OWN NPC units will not be used in these Epic Battles.
NPC units will be provided for both sides, along with any items or means of Transport (Trucks/Tanks/Jeeps). This is mainly because, it gives either side a fair chance in winning, because if you look at the roster' at the moment, it's currently 4 vs 2.

Not just that, but you have to take into consideration - do any Axis players have their own Divisions yet? and how many NPC units they have?

So i'd appreciate either side using NPC units provided for them, along with anything else. Just think, your own units won't be getting killed or put on the line. So it's a bonus, if you think about it... Hope that rule is suitable to you ALL!

As 1st in Command, C.Matherson will have the primary control over the NPC units, other Officer Units (such as McMillan for example) MAY control NPC units too, but only to that effect of what your rank allows you to control. So McMillan is fit enough to control a company/platoon from his NCO rank, unless instructed otherwise by the CO - C.Matherson.

You're more than welcome to ask and talk about EVERYTHING here for the Epic Battle thread, this is our first and won't be our last! So we're all adapting still.
