I can just imagine what Strummy is thinking. Vaalto would be more than happy to help.
My idea, is that Vaalto finds the Jews in your cellar because he hears them. He then decides that he will side with your family and defend them. Strumfelder gets a head up about them and is on his way to exterminate them when a firefight starts. And Vaalto gets away with the Jews and Peter. Strumfelder doesn't give up there, he follows them across Europe and finally catches up to them as they are boarding a ship to England.
All the same to me. What I mean is, well, there seems to be half a dozen Axis members here who are striving to do good. It's just lately they've been coming out of the woodwork. You do realise Vaalto, if captured by Strumfelder, Wolfram even (you're in their division), you could face penalties.
Just thought I should let you know, because ideally, you don't join the Waffen-SS and then betray them. Could face execution even if caught, I'm sure. Helping the Jews escape Germany. A thing like that doesn't just disappear, so if you do decide to make Vaalto take part in this role, be careful you're not putting your character forwards for something you may not be expecting the outcome to be. Hence; Prison, execution, etc... ~Danny

No, this is the part in Vaalto's life where he finds out that he is fighting with the wrong people because all the Germans do is kill. He wants to help end the war quickly and with few deaths, so he might switch to the Allies or fake his own death. Because he feels that he wants to help as many people as possible. That is why he will be taking part in this.
And the Allies will accept you within their ranks...? Or are you planning on being a rebellious citizen...?
Only reason I'm asking all these questions, is because you can't just think "I want to deflect" and you can go do it. You have to have all your tracks covered and if you seriously do get caught, you can face big penalties, as your mercy would be entirely down to your divisional commanders or capturers for the betrayal.
So if you're thinking of attempting to deflect, you would be abandoning a lot of things and you can't always assume you can fight the big fight on the opposite side of the war. In a sense, join up to a divisional and think everything will be alright, because the likely hood is, realistically, you may be modded with the diverse effect during battle with those surrounding you. If you was to be accepted into an Allied division for instance.
What I mean by that is, what British/American person would fight alongside a former Waffen-SS soldier and not feel cautious or attempt to have their way with you? So you could find mod-marks during your battles going against you. I be honest, JT's character Edward McMillan may suffer the same concequences during some of his battles, but due to Wolfram (being an SS-Major) and JT proving himself by killing a dozen tank crew members (his own units) in front of the Waffen-SS's men, his character is fairly safe guarded to an extent that they wouldn't try to do anything.
Wolfram is on E.McMillan's side and quite openly, E.McMillan has proven himself worthy of the Waffen-SS ranks with information, veteran abilities and even brought them a new tank!
What do you have to offer to the Allies? Do you have any senior ranked members willing to take you on and safe guard you within their division?
You have to ask yourself these questions, because the likely hood is, the realism of you getting into an Allied division is slim (unless someone was willing to accept the possible concequences of having a former enemy amongst their ranks) and does Wolfram feel fine with you betraying him and his division? Because JT had my full blessing during his time to deflect, me being his prior divisonal commander in the 7AD. So you can't simply just decide to deflect without having the proper means of being able to do so.
The only other person who deflected successfully was Doctor Vlakte, but he opted for a neutral/civillan approach and slowly faded out, under a new identity. You however, plan on fighting against your former comrades, so you need to make sure you have all the doors covered, otherwise, you could be facing a nasty mod-mark of an overly eager American popping a shot off at you when you attempt to cross the border alone. Being suspected for a spy or something crazy...

Vaalto, I wouldn't be suprised if Strumfelder shot you dead on the spot when he saw you helping the Jews. Thats what Felix would do, lol ;D No love for other Scandenavians
Vaalto might do the same as Doktor Vlakte, and become a civilian, and fight with the Resistance, but it is all up to fate, I know that Vaalto might die, but he is fighting for and end to all of the killing now. He will help all other people as long as they don't get hurt. So, if he is able to he will try to find away out peacefully so no one gets hurt, but if he has to, he will just deflect to the Allies and defend himself. Hopefully though, Vaalto can just make it to the Resistance.
Have you ever read "The Book Thief"? This sounds a lot like that...

Wow...this thread has grown, I really like the idea, I thought Strummy would have an idea in this lol! I like it, as Strum says, it may need some filling out but I think this could be cool.

PuNK! I have decided to maybe go into Rebellious Civilian, and I am hoping for a point where Vaalto and Strumfelder can have a conversation when the Jews get away on the boat. A conversation between Vaalto and Strumfelder, 1 on 1, no other men. Hopefully with a gun in it somewhere. But, this is going to be a lot of fun. Last night I couldn't stop thinking about it.
