Neutral RP?

Well seeing as I've been around a lot lately, I thought I may as well take the time to get to know my fellow team-mates.

Anyone up for a neutral role play? I would prefer 3ID members only, but I can work around things if not. If you're up for a role play, just let me know here and maybe what you had in mind. If you had anything in mind for a storyline that is.

I've opened a lot of neutral role plays in the past and nobody ever joins them, so this is partly why I've decided to request a fellow buddy or two to adjoin me in a neutral thread here.

So any takers? Have anything in mind maybe?

If no one from the 3ID joins up (which I highly doubt), Niamh is open any time. Just don't be surprised if she has a German refugee tagging along, which might make things more interesting. Not to mention the whole "seductive, thieving Gypsy" stereotype that surrounds her people and the Roma...

What sort of storyline did you have in mind? I'm not familiar with "Roma", but Irish Gypsies, sure. I would like to start a role play with a 3ID member, but I'm always open to other ideas and stuff. Why wouldn't I be?

"Roma" is the proper term for the people called "Gypsies". "Gypsy" came from the fact that people once thought the Roma came from Egypt. For a single person of Roma ethnicity, you would call them a "Rom". Roma means "people" in their language, called "Romani". Check my "Resources for the Writer" thread for more info.

Any storyline could do. Heck, you and another one of your 3ID buddies could stumble across my lil' ol' Pavee. I'd love to nearly run you over with her horse.

I'll do a RP, I haven't been doing any in a while (November was the last, if I am not mistaken). I think that my writing has gotten better though since the last time we RPed (last September, it lasted two whole posts!). So yeah, sounds fun.

Moving on swiftly, Righhhhtttt, all of that went completely over my head. ;D But yeah, sounds interesting, different. The whole nearly being run over with a horse, isn't too bad an idea. Although, Steven would possibly see it coming a mile off and unless the horse had headlights and was travelling at - oh I don't know, eighty miles an' hour, he wouldn't be frozen like a rabbit.

So what's Niamh meant to be like? Personality wise or whatever's outstanding about her? I'm quite interested in starting a role play with you, but I'm a little slow when it comes to this whole Roma thing you have going on. Don't really want to mess it up, so don't mind me questioning you some about your character.

EDIT: We did RP together Owen? Or was you saying that for another reason? I don't quite remember us role playing. Did you have anything in mind for a role play though?

And thanks Mac, I sort off wanted a role play between one or two other people, where we could discuss it a little here before hand. Otherwise I would have joined someone's thread. I guess I just want the reassurance people will post, I have started countless threads in the past and no one has bothered to post.

I'm talking about the times I started dozens of threads with Gero even and no one posted. So I just want someone willing to role play with me I suppose.

But of course. ;D One of the reasons I picked her ethnicity is because how few people actually seem to KNOW about it. It's educational, fresh, and a lot of fun because nobody has a clue what your culture's like! XD

Well, she'll bite your head off if you make an insult about her with the word "Gypsy" in it. She's smart about survivial, and if you want to know what's going on in England, she's good to ask because she's nomadic. She travels around a lot, although she's not always welcomed because of the negative "Gypsy" image. She's smart about horses (family's trained them for generations, and working with horses is traditional work for a Pavee, a.k.a. "Irish Traveller").

^Start there, and look around with Google, as well as the thread I mentioned before. I don't mind answering questions, it's just that other sites might give you a more definitive answer.

Edit: Owen, you've got me pumped about this thread. I've always wanted to RP with your character...he's so interesting. I like artistic characters. ;D

Thanks, yeah the one thing I'm a little confused about, is whether she is Irish or Roma (Romani - Eastern Europe) cultured?

I'm hearing two conflicting stories with the ethnicity of Niamh. Pavee, Irish one moment and Romani the next (as if she's from the Balkans or something). Again, sorry for the questioning, but the only type of Gypsies I know are; Irish travellers or Romanians. You're sort off bordering between both, which is really confusing me about your character.

Guess I want to get an image of her in my mind, before I even contemplated on approaching her during an role play. That was all.

Gaaaaaaaah... @_@ I'm confusing myself. -facepalm- Yes, she is an Irish Traveller; they refer to themselves as "Pavees". I was just explaining the Roma because I misinterpreted one of your questions...

Hmmmm...there was also a thread in General about what our characters looked like...I put Niamh's description in there. Let me go find it.

I kinda like one-on-one role plays a bit more, there is less confusion, and they get places a bit faster. Sorry 'bout that.

I'm game for almost anything, really. All I steer clear of are M-rated threads, and I'd let you guys know if anything made me uncomfortable.
