This was the map I had put up for my first battle, but since Jonas didn't have a squad I quickly made Town Mouse.

Get it now, "Buying the Farm" because I would use the CP to get a thompson.

Krause will remain in the battle, he will react to the situation and take orders as he is lower ranking (pretty much an NPC) but his actual character will remain in battle, if he isn't coming back then it shouldn't matter if he is captured or killed, but he isn't becoming an NPC.

Well you are more than welcome to give him orders and he will react accordingly as he is your subordinate on this field, so more or less yes, but he isn't an NPC, whatever the enemy does to him he will have to live with...should he show up again.
