This was an idea that was brought to me by Dbev...or was it Rhys...? I honestly can't remember and am sorry for that. So all credit to...one of those guys right there for the idea. I'm just trying to find out what everyone else thinks about it.
It is a battle based off of CP limitations, instead of numbers. the best way to explain it is by example.
Say you want to hold a 300CP battle, each side would be allowed to use 300CP worth of gear, NPCs, vehicles, certs, and whatever else that would cover. You could still limit the types, so if you didn't want to get surprised by a member that owns tanks, or a member that owns planes, you could simply state this in your sign up, "300CP, no armor/aviation" or however works best, this is just simply a new way to introduce a battle on the board and in no way would replace the current style of battle sign ups.
In principle I favour this idea, but I can see just a few problems. One major one being their is no fair equation when it comes to pricing shop items. You see, the main issue is that the CP is simply guessed at, rather than tested. Therefore inevitably, there are some items which are better value for money. I'm brining this up because everyone knows my love of mortars. However, unless mortars were modded far better, or their prices reduced, each crew could be facing down over thirty men. In my current battle, I've had a hard enough time facing down twenty men with three mortars. I could not face close to one hundred. Tanks have the same problem. Would you rather have a tank, or over one hundred men?
So although this idea does have potential, nobody seems to be looking at the problems (God, I feel like Danny now...). It would mean a complete rework of the shops prices. This is of course do able, but I get the feeling you guys expect this to happen within the next week or so. A large review of the shop would take a good month.
So while I like this idea, us staff want to hear all the flaws you guys can come up with. Then we can write rules to work around them. We need constructive criticism, not just compliments. I hope everyone understands where I'm coming from.

Um.... it doesn't need a complete re-work of the shop prices.
To quote JT:

You must have misread that part, or summin'.
Yeah, if we were to use this, there would be a little problem with the prices, but it would all add to the strategy! You have to think about it very clearly. If you bring in too much expensive, special units, you are going to be completely swamped with men. But if you bring in practically all Privates you will have next to no defense against tanks, etc, and they will all run away the minute they start getting fired on. It'd be fun, I think. You would really have to think.
How would you rp the battle, say you were a lowly Schütze with no historical command value? It would seem awkward to have a private command 100 men...
Should there be a limit based on the rank of the individual?
As it has been stated so many times before:
You can purchase as many men and units as you want as long as you have the CP. However, you can't necessarily control them in one battle. You have to limit yourself to a reasonable number of units or tag a long with someone of higher rank.

Well maybe a third opinion on your question would help as I don't think they answered it, no offense guys.
Although what both Dan and Erik said is true...the thing is, if you can't fill the requirements for the battle alone or in a team, then you shouldn't join, evan if you have the CP for 100 men and are a PVT, you can't command them, but if the CP limitation is higher, you would either need a teammate or would need to back out of the battle as you can't fill the needed slot the creator of the battle is asking for.

Will this ever happen? I think it would certainly benefit me and a lot of other people, who have a larger scale of units or even special units they never get to use, because of fear they need to match the enemy like for like. With a set standard of CP for a battle layout, you technically do have equal fighting chances (same amount of CP for your forces), but just a different method to fighting your side of the battle for instance.
Let's say I create a 120CP worth battle, I bring a single tank/crew into the battle, but my opponent could have MG Units, Bazooka units and a dozen or more soldiers. In an ordinary sign up, if I said I'm bringing a tank, then the enemy will immediately want armour on their side, before considering the facts of being able to combat armour with the use of other units. So I think this could work well, to make it more reassuring for people, you could have category rates, so:
Etc, etc... So you choose your units to fit the bill of CP allowed, rather than constantly negotiating on who can have what, because of so and so unit. LOL, if that makes sense. - Raf
