EDITED OUT!
Name:
Elijah Thomas, formerly Evelyn Davis.
Nationality:
American.
What Army will Your Character Serve Beneath?
US.
Character History:
Evelyn Davis grew up listening to war stories. Her uncle Johnathon had died a true soldier's death at the hands of a German soldier in the first World War. He had apparently risked his life to save a couple friends of his, which made him a hero among the family. Mr Davis had admired his older brother in life as well as in death, and - being the closest living relative - was given his brother's uniform, which he kept in a glass case next to his picture.
Evelyn, who was born quite a few years after her uncle had passed away, really couldn't care less about her deceased uncle. What she really envied was the look in her father's eyes when he spoke about his brother. Evelyn had never in her life done anything to receive that look, and was willing to do anything to get it.
Fortunately, Pearl Harbor provided her with the perfect opportunity. After the bombing, young men started pouring into the army left and right. There was one problem: she wasn't a boy. She came up with the solution in a matter of days: she would have to disguise herself. After jotting down a quick note as to her intentions, she shaved her head and signed up under the name Elijah Thomas.
Military Rank:
I'm thinking private.
Writing Sample:
Elijah was quickly realizing that being separated from her squad was not the most ideal position she could be in.
It was true that there were safety in numbers, especially in an all out war. Alone, she was starting to hear things. It was just her mind playing tricks on her, she was certain of it. The closest Axis soldiers were at least fifty miles away. They wouldn't have any reason to be this far south. That was a silly idea. Besides, she was being quieter than the wind; surely if there were any-
Elijah stopped mid-step, listening intently. She strained her ears for any other source of noise. Certain that she had heard the sound of footsteps, she pulled her pistol out of it's holster and took another few steps. She didn't hear anything, so she continued on, albeit a bit more slowly. Surely if there was a hostile soldier around he would have shot her already.
Not a moment too soon, a bullet zinged passed her head and embedded itself in the bark of a tree about five feet away. Without thinking, Elijah whipped around to see who had shot at her. A young Japanese man about her her age was standing a ways away, gun pointed right at her. She came to her senses right then and remembered that she, too, held a gun, and decided to use it. She fired a few rounds at the man and ducked behind a tree, not wanting to see if she laid a fatal blow.
