Kubasek looked beyond the rock to see that ben and his men had taken postion. "Good lads good" Kubasek said to himself. "Okay lad, it is time for you to do your part. I need you to run to the opening and scan the area. You never know what ye may find, could be a whole damn regiment of our men waiting or just sand. Good luck and god be with ya" Kubasek said to the private. Kubasek patted the privates back and sent him toward the position. Kubasek hoped it was one of those two things up on the hill and not some damn krauts. Kubasek had a feeling that the men would be fine and that no death would occur that fine day. Kubasek stared up in the sky, remember days of his childhood and life before the war. It brought a smile to his face, but he had to keep focus on the war, and not let this kind of stuff bother him.

The private strted to run toward where he had to go. The private fell to the ground, his ankle twisted. "Oh my god its broken! it is broken! agrhhhhh" The private screamed out. "Shut the hell up lad, you'll be fine, it is probably just spranged!, just get to the damn position! Kubasek yelled out to the private. The private struggled to stand up with his spranged ankle. The private started to limp toward his position. When he arrived he stared toward the hill. "Seems all clear sir! nothing there, i think it is clear to move! can i come back please?!, i need this ankle to be checked on." The private yelled back to kubasek. " No you get yer arse up that hill, i want a full report, i cant have it being a guess, and i ain't goign to deal with your shite its ethier you get up there or you come back here and be considered a coward!" Kubasek shouted. The privated gulped and stared toward the hill. he than started to make his way up it hoping for the best.

The following actions have been made:

- Well what can I say...you gave one of your own men an injury.

- For a moment morale dropped when you told him he couldn't come back, but the "coward" comment saved you that pothole as it made sense to the rest of the men, they were in a war, not a shopping mall.

- ALL of the Axis troops are no aware that enemy forces are in the area, they are becoming a bit antsy to hit them before they are discovered, but not to a point where they would give away there positions, the Axis forces remain unknown to the Allies.

[OOC: A map? No comment. ::)]

Quickly, Werner stored the hip flask back in his tunic and mentally readied himself again. "Ok, wir haben Gesellschaft. Diese verdammten Tommies wollen es also wirklich wissen.", Werner mumbled to himself. Around him, his men nervously checked their equipment for the umpteenth time. Werner's hand felt for the stick grenades attached to his belt and the cold metal was strangely relieving to the man. His uniform was drenched because of the wetness in the air and felt like being glued on Werner's skin.

Carefully peeking over the edge of the trench again, he now clearly could spot a single British soldier running toward the German position, using the spare cover provided by the desert. Probably he was some kind of a scout and if this man would know, what was waiting for him on top of this hill, he surely would run into the directly opposite direction as fast as he could.

In the eyes of the private besides him, Werner could see the urgent need to just take that threat out as soon as possible. Carefully he grabbed the young man's shoulder and whispered "Nicht jetzt schon schießen, lass Sie noch ein wenig rankommen. Behalt die Nerven." The young private shyly looked back at Werner and his larynx jumped up and down because of his excitement. After a few seconds, he slowly nodded his head at his superior.

After the Brit had advanced several meters toward the hill, he quickly fell to the ground and grabbed his ankle with both hands. Werner couldn't believe his own eyes and although the situation was that serious, that moment brought a bright smile to his face for a few seconds. Besides him, Gefreiter Dahn grinned and whispered to his comrades: "Wenns so weiter geht, sind wir wirklich Morgen in Kairo. Die sind ja zu blöd zum laufen." Werner, who had himself under control quite fast again, signalled the men with his hands to shut up.

Clearly he could hear some yelling coming from behind the big rocks east of the hill now. That meant, this scout wasn't the only Allied soldier in the area.

Translations:
"Gut, wir haben Gesellschaft. Diese verdammten Tommies wollen es also wirklich wissen."
"Ok, we've got company. These damned Tommies really wanna know."

"Nicht jetzt schon schießen, lass Sie noch ein wenig rankommen. Behalt die Nerven."
"Don't shoot by now, let them come a bit closer. Keep your nerves."

"Wenns alles so weiter geht, sind wir wirklich Morgen in Kairo. Die sind ja zu blöd zum laufen."
"If everything continues like that, we'll really be in Cairo tomorrow. They seem too stupid to even walk."

OOC: Not sure how big the rocks are and if they prevent visibility significantly or not. Obviously in my post I have assumed that the soldier is at a clearly visible spot for the Germans up on the hill.

Dieter blinked slowly as he stole a quick glance at what was happening with the Allied troops. It appeared that they had sent one man to scout ahead and he was now stumbling and complaining in loud voice, making quite sure that every German knew exactly where he was. Someone answered him from a distance, obviously more British soldiers were hidden behind the big rocks near the hill. They couldn't really be this stupid, now could they? Or were they so sure that there were absolutely no Germans in the area at all? The man they had sent to scout ahead was a ridiculously easy and visible target, not to mention a very noisy one.

The young lance corporal could only keep on wondering what the Brits could have possibly been thinking. The British soldier paused, maybe to ask something, before continuing closer towards the German positions. With an amused grunt, Dieter picked the cigarette from his mouth and stumped on it with his boot. If the soldier decided to climb up the entire hill, the Germans would naturally be discovered. The sandy-haired German corporal glanced towards Unteroffizier von Maybach, trying to see what his opinion was of the situation. He was sure that Maybach agreed with him on what to do. The British soldier was getting closer and they could either shoot him or let him escape if he decided to suddenly turn around.

"Bereit Ihre Waffe, schießen Sie diesen dummen Tommy," Dieter told private Pietz. "Ich werde zuerst schießen. Wenn das ihn nicht tötet, können Sie ein Gehen haben." Making his way to the other end of the trench and keeping low, Dieter leveled his rifle on the edge of the trench to make sure that his aim would be as steady as possible. The rifle was already loaded, so all the corporal had to do was to find the stumbling British and make sure he was in his sights. The British soldier moved daintily, looking quite unsure and clearly wondering if he should be heading up the hill or not. Still, he wasn't turning back, so obviously someone had ordered him to keep on scouting. Dieter took his time aiming, letting the man move slightly closer. "Ich wette einen Pack Zigaretten Sie werden ihn nicht schlagen," Pietz said in a low voice and grinned.

Dieter smirked slightly to acknowledge the bet, but did not drop his aim for a second. As the iron sights settled on the target, Dieter took a deep breath in and then slowly breathed out, stopping in mid-breath to squeeze the trigger. The loud sound of the gunshot echoed from the rocks, multiplying several times and shattering the relative silence of the desert. He didn't want to leave things to a chance, so he fired again a few times, enjoying the ease of using the autoloading rifle after using the bolt-action one for such a long time. Next to the Stabsgefreiter, private Pietz had joined in for some target practice.

Translations:

"Bereit Ihre Waffe, schießen Sie diesen dummen Tommy."
"Ready your weapon, let's get this stupid Tommy."

"Ich werde zuerst schießen. Wenn das ihn nicht tötet, können Sie ein Gehen haben."
"I'll fire first. If that doesn't drop him, you can have a go."

"Ich wette einen Pack Zigaretten Sie werden ihn nicht schlagen."
"Bet one pack of cigarettes you won't get him."

The following actions have been made:

- Badda bing...Dieter's round winged the open Allied soldier, with more than a clear shot and the element of surprise the man stood very little chance.

- Badda bang...The Axis soldier following Dieter's example, waiting until his superior fired, he flinched slightly from the sudden loud noise Dieter's rifle, causing his shot to drop low...

- Badda boom...The Allied sodlier having been hit immediately dropped to the ground, half due to training and the other half due to the injury he sustained from the first rifle...though hitting the ground would be his undoing, with the second shot having dropped low it enter the top of the Allied soldier's back barely and inch from his spine, passed through all sorts of important things needed for living and exited the left side of his groin. After a small scream and squirming the man died from his injuries.

To either Allied member in this thread, you have one week to respond to this by either PMing myself or posting in this thread, if this does not happen the Axis forces will take the victory!
